Despite, In Spite Of & Although, Even though, Though

“Despite”, “In Spite Of” & “Although”, “Even though”, “Though”, semuanya memiliki m,akna yang sejenis yaitu “ meskipun”.

Meskipun memiliki makna yang sejenis tetapi penggunaannya dalam kaliamt lisan (spoken) dan tertulis (written) sangat sekali berbeda.
Lantas dimanakah letak perbedaannya ?

“Despite” dan “in spite of” selalu diikuti oleh kata benda (noun) tepat sesudahnya.
Contoh :
Despite the heavy rain, he went to school.
Atau
In spite of the heavy rain, he went to school.

Sedangkan “Although”, “Though”, dan “Eventhough” selalu diikuti oleh SUBJEK + KATA KERJA (VERB) tepat sesudahnya.

Contoh :

Although it rained hard, he went to school.
Atau
Eventhough it rained hard, he went to school.
Atau
Though it rained hard, he went to school.
